From the monastery, I went over to Ghost Ranch to write and reflect. Somehow I landed there at a time between the many conferences, so it's very quiet. That's nice. It would be a hard adjustment to chat with a lot of folks after the kind of week that I've had.
A rip-roaring storm blows through in the evening, and settles near

the summit of Pedernal, Georgia O'Keefe's favorite mountain. It's a massive rock shaped like a table-top with scooped sides. The lightning flashes sideways, and I watch it from a log cabin that was featured in the film "City Slickers."
I've needed some time to capture some thoughts in my journal. As I return to loved ones and familiar places, I don't want to forget some of the thoughts and prayers of this week.
Later I will wander down to the Santa Fe campus of Ghost Ranch to explore the city and catch my shuttle to the Albuquerque airport.
